よいお年を！！

先週の日曜日（29日）、私は「サンビクト」と言う障害児の芸術研究センターの新年を祝うパーティーに招待されました。このセンターの設立者はグルサラさんというとても有名な芸術家で、ウズベキスタン芸術院の会員です。

Last week on Sunday (December 29) I was invited to the New Year party at the Arts Research Center for Disabled Children called "Sanvikt." The founder of the center is Mrs. Gulsara Radjapovna - a well-known artist, member oft the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.

ポスターにはこう書いてあります：「サンビクト障害児の芸術センター、私たちは10周年を迎えました。」センターは1999年に設立されましたので、今年はもう15周年になります。Written on the poster: "Sanvikt Arts Center for Disabled Children, we are 10 years old." The center was founded in 1999, and this year it will turn to 15 years old.

グルサラさんは、はじめは障害児だけの為に芸術センターを創設しましたが、フランスで全ての子供の為に作られた芸術センターを見て来て、障害児だけでなく、障害のない子供にも芸術を教えるようになりました。

Initially, the purpose of Gulsara opa was to create an arts center only for disabled children, but after she went to France and saw the Arts Center for children there, she decided to teach arts not only for disabled children but also non-disabled children.

センターの壁や天井には子供たちの絵が貼られています。5歳から17歳までの子供が「サンビクト」に来ます。芸術の授業は全て無料です。
In the center all the walls and ceilings are filled with the paintings of the children. Children from 5 to 17 come to "Sanvikt". All the art classes are free of charge.

グルサラさんに「サンビクトって、どういう意味ですか。」と質問したら、このような回答をもらいました。「サンビクトは略語を組み合わせたもので、「サン」はウズベク語の「サナト＝芸術」の略、「ビクト」は英語の「ビクトリー＝勝利」の略です。つまり「芸術は常に勝利する」と言う意味なのです。」

When I asked Gulsara opa "What is the meaning of 'Sanvikt'? She replied that, it is an abbreviation consisting of two words. "San" is taken from "San'at", which in Uzbek means "Art"; "Vikt" is from "Victory" in English. So, the general meaning is "Arts always win the victory."

グルサラさんの最近の彫刻作品。「最近は、ほとんどの時間を子供に捧げているので、自分の芸術の為の時間を見つけるのはとても難しい」とグルサラさんは言いました。
The latest sculpture works of Gulsara opa. "Recently, I have been devoting most of my time for children, so that it is very difficult to find time for my own art works" she said.

「なぜグルサラさんはこれほどまで障害児の支援のために尽くしているのだろう？」と思われるかもしれません。その答えは、グルサラさんの家族にありました。彼女の伯父さん、カシム・ムルザラヒモフさんも、ウズベキスタンのとても有名な芸術家でした。身体障害があるため、彼は横臥姿勢で数々の名作を産み出していました。

One can ask himself a question: "Why Gulsara opa makes so much effort to support disabled children?" The answer can be found in her own family. Her uncle, Kasym Mirzarahimov, was a disabled person, also a famous Uzbek artist, who made masterpieces lying on his back.

「サンビクト」の子供たちは日本の伝統的なスポーツにも興味があるらしい。
It seems that "Sanvikt" children have interest in the traditional sport of Japan.
